Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) provides you the credibility to discuss critical issues around governance and strategic alignment, and the traction to consider a move to the C-suite, if you aren't already there.

Launched in 2007, the ISACA Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certificate has become the premier qualification for those responsible for directing and managing the governance of IT in a large organization. ISACA has confirmed that there are over 6,000 CGEIT professionals worldwide, with 77% holding senior positions as IT directors, audit directors, CIOs, CISOs and CEOs.

Earning CGEIT
The CGEIT is designed for professionals who have management, advisory, and/or assurance responsibilities relating to the governance of IT. To earn the CGEIT credential, an individual must:

  • Pass the CGEIT exam
  • Adhere to the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics
  • Agree to comply with the CGEIT Continuing Education Policy
  • Provide evidence of appropriate IT governance work experience as defined by the CGEIT Job Practice

The Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT®) certification program was developed by ISACA specifically for experienced IT governance personnel and those who have responsibilities for the stewardship of IT resources. This training course provides in-depth understanding of IT governance topics and prepares participants to successfully pass the CGEIT examination.

Practice Exam
A practice exam is part of the course. It aims to help participants in passing the CGEIT exam

Certification Examination
CGEIT exam is not included in this training course. ISACA directly organizes CGEIT exams in June and December each year.

The CGEIT® exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions over a 4-hour period. Candidate scores are reported as a scaled score. A scaled score is a conversion of a candidate's raw score on an exam to a common scale. ISACA uses and reports scores on a common scale from 200 to 800. A candidate must receive a score of 450 or higher to pass the exam. A score of 450 represents a minimum consistent standard of knowledge as established by ISACA's CGEIT® Certification Committee.

Eligibility for Examination
Five (5) or more years of experience managing, serving in an advisory or oversight role, and/or otherwise supporting the governance of the IT-related contribution to an enterprise including a minimum of one year of experience relating to the definition, establishment and management of a Framework for the Governance of IT. There are no substitutions or experience waivers.
