Achieving CMMI with Business Beam
Business Beam leads you towards CMMI into two phases; consulting and appraisal.
Consulting Phase: The consulting phase aims capability development within organization. The core objectives include:
- Develop process improvement and model’s awareness,
- Identify right gaps between actual practices and CMMI’s,
- Define customized processes based on organization’s environment, nature of products, and industry best practices to ensure compliance against the desired level or process areas of CMMI,
- Provide step-by-step guidance and training in institutionalizing the newly developed processes and practices,
- Perform mini-appraisal to check organization’s readiness for formal appraisal.
Appraisal Phase: The objectives of appraisal phase are as follows:
- Deliver SEI Authorized three-day ‘Introduction to CMMI’ training and Appraisal Tem Member (ATM) training (if required),
- Conduct CMMI appraisal against desired level or process areas. The appraisal follows SEI authorized methodology called, ‘Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI)’,
- Finally, conduct SCAMPI ‘A’ appraisal, that generates level-rating on successful completion,
- Report the results to the organization under assessment, and the SEI, as required by the framework.
